I have met some of the most amazing people on my adventures on a bike. The experiences have become my therapy, my zen, and my pathway to becoming the person I am today. My goal for Infinity Cycling (IC) is to bring communities and businesses together while creating economic growth through the use of a bicycle. IC was designed to help others discover an infinite love for a healthy life style through cycling and multi sport activity. What more could you ask for?
How I got here...
2012 - the summer where I realized the weight from my first (and only) child was not going to come off as easily as I had hoped. When looking at my pudgy and somewhat "softer" self in the mirror, I wasn't mortified, but I wasn't happy either. It was time to make a change...
Rewind to the winter of 2011 - My husband, Brad had suffered a pulmonary embolism. While it was a fluke experience, it lead to some serious lifestyle changes in his daily routine. Bound and determined to rid himself of all medication, he decided to start exercising. In college, we were both into skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing, you name it. However, once we bought a home, had a baby, and started careers...we lost all motivation.
Our dear friend, Mike P. who had recently re-entered our lives inspired Brad the summer after his embolism to take on the challenge of the famous 31 mile Iceman Cometh mountain bike race in Traverse City, Michigan. Personally, I thought he was crazy and laughed at the idea. Brad had 8 weeks to train on an old rusty mountain bike. He hit the local trail every other day for 6-8 weeks and maxed out his training at about 15 miles prior to the big race. Race weekend came and I helped him load up his bike while he and Mike drove the 3.5 hours to Traverse City. Needless to say, when he returned from the grueling experience, he was hooked. I hadn't seen his face light up like that since our daughter was born in 2009. As a result, I became intrigued....
Fast forward to 2016 - It's been 5 years since I first jumped on a mountain bike for the very first time with some girlfriends and rode through the woods with our husbands. Since then, I've participated in 10 mountain bike races, 4 charity bike events, 2 criterium races, 4 gravel road races, 2 cyclocross races, and 1 road race. In addition, for the last year and a half I've wheeled my way across 4,000 miles of pure outdoor love, and have had the honor of becoming the President of our local armature race team, Clark Logic while also joining one of the best charity teams in the state, Team Taylor. As if the above weren't enough, I've had the privilege of being an active member of the Kalamazoo Bike Club and serving as the President of the Southwest Michigan Mountain Biking Association.
All of which have changed my life completely.
I feel honored and incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to turn my passion into a career.
